Riding an electric scooter through narrow overgrown paths has consequences in Bagan! These bidi-bidi’s really liked my @allbirds Needless to say every piece of plant has been painstakingly removed before coming back to NZ. Riding around Bagan’s temples - there are 10,000 of them - in this UNESCO site is incredible. Love that they only loan electric bikes (scooters) rather than motorcycles. It means it is lovely and quiet as everyone rides around exploring the temples and stupas. Myanmar has some funny motorcycle laws. For example, motorcycles are banned in Yangon. It’s rather odd being in a big Asian city with no motorcycles but also rather unique. Anyone caught riding a motorcycle in Yangon will have their bike confiscated. And tourists are not allowed to ride motorcycles in most places. So I guess that’s why all the scooters in Bagan are electric! It’s more environmentally friendly too. The charge in the bikes is enough to explore Bagan but not further afield so make sure when you hire a bike that it’s fully charged before you head off. #allbirds #travel #bagan #myanmar #motorcycles #electricbikes (at Bagan, Myanmar)
